AACC is excited to announce that our Next Gen Initiative is launching the first Next Gen Leadership Cohort this summer.

The AACC Next Gen Leadership Cohort will consist of a carefully chosen group of 8-12 exceptional Asian American college students and young adults dedicated to their Christian faith. Ideal candidates for the cohort will understand the value and significance of the Asian American church and embrace their distinct identity as young Asian American Christians with confidence.

AACC has established this cohort to mentor our next generation, empowering them to realize the depth of their God-given talents and identity. Our aim is to cultivate leaders who exhibit assurance in their spiritual and cultural identity, capable of guiding others to embrace similar confidence in their diverse college, workplace, and community settings. Cohort members will culminate their efforts in organizing and convening AACC’s inaugural Asian American NextGen Leadership Summit.

when is it?

The Cohort will launch with an in-person kick-off retreat in Southern California during the weekend of July 25-28.

The Cohort program will then officially run from August 1st to September 26th. Members of the cohort will attend weekly meetings over Zoom on Thursday evenings.

The Leadership Summit will take place sometime in the Spring of 2025 in Southern California.

What is it?

Participants will interact with distinguished speakers, explore the intricate aspects of Asian American culture and its intersection with Christian faith and identity, and experience intentional spiritual and personal growth through mentorship.

Additionally, cohort members will have opportunities to engage in significant AACC events and participate in stimulating individual and group projects. Upon completing the cohort, alumni will have access to the AACC network and community and the chance to serve as mentors for future cohort members.

As part of the inaugural AACC NextGen Cohort, students will culminate their efforts in organizing an Asian American NextGen Leadership Summit in Southern California.

This will be AACC’s first annual NextGen gathering. Students will work together to create a transformative one-day experience for college students and young adults to explore issues of faith and its intersection with Asian American identity. The event will consist of the sharing of personal testimonies from individuals within the cohort, hearing from powerful guest speakers, and engaging students in activities to build community among peers their age. This event will be completely student-run and will seek to address issues relevant to the next generation today.

  • Attend the kick-off retreat in the summer (July 25-28)

    • Students will get to meet the other cohort members and AACC NextGen leaders, engage in an enriching and discussion-based curriculum around faith and Asian American identity, and enjoy fun, food, and fellowship with their newfound community.
